WORKSHOP: Climate Change Considerations for Public Safety Organizations

Updated: May 22, 2023

Date

March 1st, 2023

Overview

The Secure Communities Forum in partnership with the Joint Environmental Unit of the United Nations has joined forces to develop one of the world's first climate change training courses tailored to first responders and law enforcement. Together, we gathered a team of 23 experts from 12 countries and over 5 different governmental, United Nations, or emergency services organizations to develop the specialized content for this course. The training course will focus on educating emergency services and law enforcement officials and officers on the basics of climate change-related emergencies and how they impact public safety operations. When completed the training module will be available to the public through the Environmental Emergency Centre, website of the United Nations.
